Join us for a whilwind of emotion as we enjoy a demanding concert.
We start with Schubert's Symphony No. 8, D. 759, "The Unfinished". Regarded as one of the first romantic symphonies, a serious and sombre first movement is followed by a stoic but beuatiful second movement.
The night is gloriously topped with Punto's sixth Horn Concerto. Punto was a prolific composer for the Horn allowing our soloist Sophie Hearson to show off the horn in all its colours.
Finally, we finish with Tchakovsky's final symphony, Symphony No. 6, Op. 74, "Pathetique". A grand and emotionally charged symphony sure to come with rapturous applause.
